Open a New Trading Account

CLOUDPips EAs run on your own MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading account. Your money stays in your account with your broker at all times. We have no access to your account and can't withdraw anything from it.

Choose your access route first

How you get the EA decides where you should open your account.

  • Free via partner broker (IB): you must open your account through our partner link. Supported brokers and sign-up links are in the "Get free access via IB" section of each strategy — see Strategies.
  • Purchased on the MQL5 Market: works with any broker that offers MT5.

What to choose when opening the account

Platform: choose MetaTrader 5. Our EAs don't support MT4.

Symbol: each strategy trades a specific instrument. Check the strategy page for its symbol, and make sure your account type offers it.

Account type and capital: each strategy has its own recommended minimum deposit, listed under "Minimum Deposit" on the strategy page.

  • If your capital meets the recommended minimum, a Standard account is fine.
  • If it's below that, use a Cent account instead.

Here's why: an EA that sizes lots from a % of your balance needs enough balance to do that. On a Standard account with too little capital, the calculated lot can be smaller than the broker's minimum lot, so your real risk ends up higher than your setting. A Cent account solves this, since its unit is 100 times smaller.

General steps

  1. Sign up with the broker (through our partner link, if you want free access).
  2. Verify your email and phone number.
  3. Verify your identity (KYC) with an ID card or passport. Most brokers only allow full deposits and withdrawals after this step.
  4. Create an MT5 trading account of the type you chose above.
  5. Note down these 3 details for logging in: account number (Login), trading password and server name (Server).
  6. Deposit funds.

Start on a demo account first

Every broker offers a free demo account. Install the EA and let it run on demo for a while first. You'll get comfortable with the settings, and you'll see for yourself that losing streaks really happen — before any real money is involved.
