Kumo Presets Compared (Default, Aggressive)

Kumo comes with two presets (.set files). All of them run the same strategy — breakouts on gold (XAUUSD), with a stop loss on every trade and a trailing stop that lets winners run. The only difference is the risk per trade, which changes how much your account swings.

What's in each file

Input What it does Default.set Aggressive.set
RiskPercent Risk per trade (% of balance) 1.0 2.0
Strategy settings (breakout levels, stop loss, trailing stop) The settings behind the backtests Same Same
Fixed_Lot / Max_Lot Fixed lot / lot cap (0 = off) 0 / 0 0 / 0
Enable_DrawdownCut Emergency cut at a set drawdown Off Off
  • Aggressive.set is Default.set at twice the risk, so every win and every loss is twice as big.

Before you choose

  • Past results are not a forecast. Live results depend on your broker, spreads and the market.
  • Drawdowns are what you'll actually live through. Over 2003–2026, Aggressive.set took equity down by about 50% at its worst. Make sure you could hold on through that.
  • Most of Kumo's profit comes from a few big trends. Fewer than 4 in 10 trades win, and losing streaks are normal for a breakout system.
  • You can change RiskPercent after loading. The panel's Preset line then shows Custom. Higher risk means deeper drawdowns — see Reading Backtest Numbers.
