Hoshi Presets Compared (Default, Aggressive)
Hoshi comes with two presets (.set files). Both run all 5 entries with the Kaze filter on and a stop loss on every trade. The only difference is the risk per trade.
Not sure? Start with Default.set. Download:
What's in each file
| Input | What it does | Default.set | Aggressive.set |
|---|---|---|---|
RiskPercent |
Risk per trade (% of balance) | 1.0 | 2.0 |
Entry1_Breakout_H4 … Entry5_Trend_M15 |
The 5 entries | All on | All on |
Enable_Kaze_Filter / Kaze_Min |
Kaze (wind) filter | On, 1.0 | On, 1.0 |
Use_SL_TP |
A stop loss on every trade | true | true |
Fixed_Lot / Max_Lot |
Fixed lot / lot cap (0 = off) | 0 / 0 | 0 / 0 |

Aggressive.set is Default.set at twice the risk, so every win and every loss is twice as big.

The 23-year figures compound for 23 years, so they are not a realistic expectation: lot sizes grow with the balance until they reach the broker's limits. Compare the profit factor, the drawdown and the 2024–2026 test instead. The full reports with charts are in the Backtest section of the Hoshi page.
Before you choose
- Past results are not a forecast. Live results depend on your broker, spreads and the market.
- Drawdowns are what you'll actually live through. Over 2003–2026, Aggressive.set took equity down by about 72% at its worst. Use it only with money you can afford to lose.
- Several trades can be open at once, so the total risk can be several times
RiskPercent. Running Hoshi with another bot? LowerRiskPercentto 0.5 on each. - Most trades are small wins or small losses. About 40% of trades win; the profit comes from the trends, with winners about 2.2 times the size of losers on Default.set.
- You can change RiskPercent after loading. The panel's Preset line then shows Custom. See Reading Backtest Numbers.
